Join us for April's Healthy Futures Food Drive!
We are collecting healthier food items for our local food pantries, as they have found their clients want to provide healthier meals to their families.

The need is real in our communities especially with the summer approaching where kids are not guaranteed one meal, lunch they would receive at school. Please help by bringing healthier food items to any of our Hockomock Area YMCA branches in April. We appreciate your support.

Breakfast Kickoff 2014 rnd
Brian Earley and Michael Patch return to lead the charge in the Hockomock Area YMCA’s 2014 Reach Out for Youth and Families Campaign. We are recruiting more than 400 volunteers to help tell the story of the Y and its impact. The campaign officially kicked off on March 27th at the Hockomock Y’s annual breakfast at Gillette Stadium, Putnam Club (East Side). Volunteers, community partners, and friends came together to help friends and neighbors in need.

Dear Friends, Winter has provided us with more than our fair share of snow storms and cancellations. Throughout these conditions, our Y facilities have been busy and I am encouraged to see members taking advantage of the opportuniites we offer to support healthy, active lifestyles....March 2014 President's Newsletter, Hockomock Area YMCA

Our focus on healthy living drives programs to improve the community's well-being. Along with ten other YMCAs across the U.S., the Hockomock Area YMCA was chosen to offer a Diabetes Prevention Program. This new and exciting program is an attempt to meet the needs of children and families by reducing the burden of chronic disease in communities across the country. Classes begin soon.   ElizSmart
We are pleased to host Child Protection Activist, Elizabeth Smart on Thursday evening, May 8, 2014.
Elizabeth will tell her personal story chronicled in her best-selling book, My Story. She and other abduction survivors worked with the Dept. of Justice to create a survivors’ guide, entitled ’You’re Not Alone: The Journey from Abduction to Empowerment.” Smart’s personal story will inspire men and women to remain hopeful when faced with difficult situations in their lives.Facebook EventPress Release

Schools Out at Bruins
The First Tee of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Golf Association have provided a unique curriculum to our After School Programs, instilling life lessons and an introduction to the game of golf. They recently brought kids to watch the Boston Bruins as guests of TD Bank. Pictured in the TD Bank Community Clubhouse, our excited group finds themselves on the Stadium's LED screen! Brock and kids rnd
We honored good friend and tireless supporter of our YMCA, Peter Brock, at our 8th Annual Legends Ball. One of the toughest players ever to play for the New England Patriots, Brock holds the Hockomock Area Y's Integration Initiative near to his heart. He has served as our Legends event chair since its inception in 2006, leading to the growth and success of this signature event.wickedlocal.com 11.26.13 thesunchronicle.com 11.20.13Patriots Weekly 11.20.13
