Top Camp FAQs
Does camp fill?
o Yes, our camps do fill so we recommend that you register as soon as possible for the weeks and days that you will need. You can always adjust your schedule as we get closer to camp.
Can I set up a time to see the camp?
o Yes, you can sign up for a tour at one of our open house dates below for our North Attleboro, Franklin, or Foxboro locations. We also have an open house date scheduled for Camp Silver Lake located in Bellingham, MA.

Is there a price difference if I have a membership?
o Yes, Hockomock Area YMCA members save on summer camp with special Y member rates.
Do I have to have an active membership at the time of sign up and through the whole summer?
o Yes, in order to receive the member rate, the camper must have an active membership from the time of
sign up until the child’s last day of camp.
How do I pay for camp? When do I need to pay in full?
o We accept cash, check, and any major credit card. All payments must be completed two weeks before your registered week of camp.

Can I place a deposit?
o A $10 deposit per week will hold your camp spot.
Do I have to sign up for the full week?
o No, we also have 3, 4 and 5-day options for some of our camps.
What is the size of the camp groups?
o For ages 3-6 years old we will maintain a 1 staff to 5 children ratio
o For ages 7-15 years old we will maintain a 1 staff to 10 children ratio
What are your camp hours?
o Full day camps run from 9:00am-4:00pm. Pre-Camp runs 7:00-9:00am. Post-Camp runs 4:00-6:00pm.
o Half day camps run from 9:00am-1:00pm.
Can I add pre or post camp at the last minute?
o Yes, pre and post camp can be added as needed and will be charged to the account.
What should my child bring with them to camp?
o Bathing suit, towel, plastic bag for wet clothes, sun screen, bug spray, hand sanitizer (optional), lunch,
refillable water bottle already filled, sneakers/closed toe shoes (should be worn to camp).
What type of training do your staff go through?
o All of our camp staff participate in a minimum of 25 hours of training prior to the start of our camp season. In addition to CPR and first aid training, staff receive instruction and guidance on group dynamics, camp activities, behavior management, communication strategies, aquatic safety, and camp traditions.
How old are your leadership staff?
o Our leadership staff are over 21.
What are the special days to remember:
o Field trips on Tues/Thurs for 4th & 5th graders
o Field trips on Wed for 2nd & 3rd graders
o Pizza Fridays (all branches)
o Inflatable Fridays
o Dress-Up and Fun Fridays
o Special Guests will visit Junior campers and 1st graders on Wednesdays
Do you go on field trips?
o Grades 2 and up go on field trips for our traditional day camps.
Where will your field trips be?
o Trips are currently being worked on by our leadership team and should be solidified by April.
Does my child have to go on the field trip if they don’t want to go?
o Yes. If they are scheduled for camp that day then they need to go on the field trip.
