Whether you're new to the community or a beginner runner, or simply want to pursue your interest in running with a group, the Y brings people together who love to be active and test their limits. Take a deeper look at the rewards a running club can offer.
Running clubs bring people together to get into the rhythm of the running experience, helping to build endurance and speed. Starting in January, we’ll meet at the Y Saturday mornings at 8:15 and every week we will offer a fun supportive community for those looking to get started running. Y staff will organize the group and lead stretching and cool downs. Join our closed facebook group for incentives and tips.
A typical Saturday run will be 3+ miles at various speeds but we will also particpate as a group in local 5K races. Each month, group members will choose a race and those who are available will join as a team. If you are just starting to run, the club is a great source of inspiration but all levels are encouraged to come out and have fun with the group. It’s a great way to get in your weekend run and be part of a monthly race.
