BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE

The Hockomock Area YMCA partners with local school districts to provide affordable before and after school programs for kids in kindergarten through middle-school.

QUALITY CARE, BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL

As the largest –and most trusted– provider of child care services in the nation, the Y ensures that kids have great experiences during out of school time. Our focus on Youth Development means we consider the whole child as we create a safe, enriching environment before and after school.

The Hockomock Area YMCA is a licensed child care program. Operated by our Foxboro, Franklin and North Attleboro YMCAs through relationships with local schools, our programs are designed to be safe and fun for kids, but also convenient and affordable for parents.

In addition to afterschool care provided at our Ys (transportation provided to/from schools through Franklin Public Schools), we do offer onsite before and after school care at several elementary schools.

Our before school programs begin every day at 7:00 a.m. Our after school programs end at 6:00 p.m.

WE SUPPORT 21ST CENTURY SKILLS

The curriculum for our programs is developed around the interests of the participants. We believe that the children in our care need to have fun after school, making friendships and being active. Through our programming participants will be engaged in activities that are going to teach them important 21st Century Skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving and creativity. Our programs offer STEM based (Science Technology Engineering and Math) curricula such as iPAD Technology, LEGO Robotics, Rubiks Cube, Engineering Adventures and One Hen. All of these offer fun and engaging experiences for our youth.

WE SUPPORT A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Our programs follow the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards developed with the Partnership for A Healthier America. We provide afternoon snack which includes either a fruit or vegetable and milk. A snack calendar is sent home monthly with the newsletter. We provide 30 minutes of physical activity through a variety of evidence based curricula.

WE INCLUDE EVERYONE

We pride ourselves in providing care for all. Our Integration Initiative department is here to provide support to the school age department and families so that we can work together to make the program a successful place for everyone.

WE PLACE HIGH EXPECTATIONS ON OUR STAFF

Every program is run by a full time professional staff site coordinator. All staff meet the qualifications put forth by the Department of Early Education and Care. Staff also go through a rigorous hiring and training process to ensure they can provide the best experience for your children. All staff are trained in CPR/AED and First Aid and recognition and reporting of child abuse and neglect. Staff ratios are a maximum of 13:1.

WE SUPPORT WORKING FAMILIES

Our programs are available on holidays, professional development days, snow days and school vacation weeks. We provide full day programming with fun field trips and activities. We close for major holidays.

WE PRIORTIZE SAFETY

Your child’s safety is of utmost importance to us. All children must be signed in and out of care. Children will only be released to a designated person over eighteen years of age with prior authorization. The YMCA will honor the most recent court papers given to us to ensure a child is protected from being picked up by an unauthorized person. No child will be released to any person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and following all standards and policies.

WE ARE HERE FOR ALL FAMILIES

The Hockomock Area YMCA offers confidential financial assistance to families who are working full-time but might have trouble affording child care services. Please download a Financial Assistance Application (or ask for an application at the front desk) and contact our Scholarship Committee at 508.695.7001. Submit the completed application with your Registration and Enrollment packet.

Vouchers are accepted and should be brought to the YMCA with the Registration and Enrollment packet.

REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT

We highly recommend an enrollment meeting with our director or lead teacher. This will allow us to answer any questions and get to know you and your child. We feel it is important both for our teachers and for your family to get to know each other before your child’s first day. Registration is done on an on-going basis, and a $50 registration fee is needed upon registration.

QUESTIONS REGARDING BILLING

The billing administrators are here to support you in any billing/voucher related questions. A billing administrator is available by appointment. You have the option to pay online, by check or through EZ Pay, an automatic deduction from a debit or credit card.

You may also pay balances through our online registration system. Please log in here to pay balances online.
