Food Access – Feeding & Caring For All
Our YMCA is a local non-profit organization committed to addressing public health challenges, such as food insecurity, in our communities. The Food Access Program partners with food pantries, schools, regional public health hubs, and community organizations to increase equitable access to nutrition.
The Hockomock Area YMCA is excited to operate Lenore’s Pantry & Market located at 451 Elm St. This community-driven, anti-hunger initiative is a partnership with the Town of North Attleborough. We are dedicated to fighting food insecurity by ensuring free, reliable access to nutritious food, while also serving our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and respect. Through a welcoming pantry and market, we support individuals and families offering choice in the way food is received, promoting healthy habits, and connections to long-term resources.
We are a proud partner of the Greater Boston Food Bank, dedicated to ensuring that no one in our community goes to bed hungry. LENORE’S PANTRY & MARKET
Exciting news: Lenore’s Pantry & Market is now open!
FUEL FOR THE WEEK PROGRAM
Our YMCA offers a Fuel for the Week Program, operated out of Lenore’s Pantry & Market, ensuring school age children (3-18) have access to wholesome snacks all week long during the school year. By filling the gap between meals, we are giving kids the energy to focus and succeed, while reminding families that their community cares. Other ways to help…
- Become a Volunteer – Join our team as a volunteer to help with food distribution, delivery or pantry operations. For more information, please email alysond@hockymca.org.
- Run a food drive in your neighborhood. Take on the role of a “neighborhood captain” by adopting a street or neighborhood to mobilize a food collective drive. Select a pickup time a week or so in advance and ask neighbors to leave a bag or two of nonperishable food items outside their home or drop them at your residence — which you can bring to the Y.
